The school of Graphite Dust was founded in Marrakech in 1988 around the creation of some monochromatic
works of small and large dimensions.
Those who participate in its activities later explore the use of coloured powders and metallic hues,
and produce more and more elaborate works which are directed by the artist.
Over time the school has distanced itself from the production of a finished object in order to explore the
dimension of play, of immediacy, and chance.
Skole’ moves nowadays in the direction of non-will, and that which it creates may or may not be completed
by the artist.
