Since 1974 he has been exploring Black using
imprints, signs,
and actions not controlled by his own hand, in five techniques:
INK, ENGRAVING, BLACK ENAMEL,
GRAPHITE DUST, LACQUER.
His painting extends to:
THEATRE
as creator and director of The Chamber Theatre of Marionettes;
to books:
BOOK WORK,
a library which contains a thousand drawing and engravings bound
in seventy-one books;
to space:
LABYRINTH,
a combinatory installation made of painted polyptychs and other
interchangeable elements;
to sound:
OMPHALOS,
a drum;
to sculpture:
PERSONA,
a mask.
FIGURE
is the image which runs through his work.
He founded in Marrakech
SKOLE'
the school of Graphite Dust.
In 1988 e was nominated Knight of Arts
and Letters by The French Republic.
