Omphalos is a monolithic drum with a semi-parabolic shape. Figure is painted at the centre of its membrane.
Omphalos produces the sound “O” (zero): a vibration of low frequency sound.
The repetition of the sound “O” produces an acoustic sequence called Omphalos Mantra.
Omphalia is a musical composition which utilises the sound “O” and its variations.
Constructed in Los Angeles in 1999 with REMO materials and technology, it is a one-off piece.
Omphalos is the centre of Labyrinth and the sound manifestation of Figure.
